A vote is set for tonight regarding controversial reading material. The Greenville County Council is set to meet tonight. One of the major topics on their agenda will be reading material in the county's public library system.
In recent months, books that are considered to have sexually graphic content and LGBTQ themes have been at the center of the debate. Councilman Joe Dill has proposed restrictions on books of that nature.
Dill says, many parents are angered by the materials being accessible to their kids. The proposed resolution would not allow books or content deemed to be promoting sexuality in the 12 library locations around the county.
Opponents of the resolution say, it is unconstitutional and violates the first amendment. Tonight's council meeting starts at 6 PM and is open to the public.
