It's well documented that South Carolina has more than its fair share of traffic fatalities. The Palmetto State ranks near the top nationally for most traffic deaths per capita and DUI related fatalities. On Monday morning, Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis joined the Tara Show to talk about the issue.
He feels much of the problem centers around the judicial process. The Sheriff spoke on issues he has with state lawmakers who are also lawyers, who appoint many of the judges. He also cited the difference in how North Carolina handles DUI cases, as opposed to South Carolina. You can hear the interview in its entirety, below.
