
The personnel of one Upstate city has performed at a high level in a high pressure situation. The City of Greenville had an emergency on its hands Wednesday morning, when a water main broke at North Markley and Rhett Street. The break caused a massive sinkhole in that area and shut down multiple streets.

The rush of water also washed debris into the streets adding to the problems. Water had to be turned off in the area to repair the break. Throughout the day on Wednesday, crews worked diligently to resolve the situation. By late Wednesday afternoon, crews had cleared areas of Academy Street and reopened it to traffic in both directions.
