Euphoria and Connect-for-Good-Greenville hosted a massive food pick up Wednesday for local non-profit organizations, first responders, and individuals and their families affected by the pandemic.
Over 10,000 meals in total were sitting in a refrigerated truck at Larkins Mill in Greenville Wednesday morning waiting to be distributed to those affected by the COVID pandemic.
Of those, roughly 8,000 had already been pre-requested by local non-profits, first responders, and individuals and their families.

Nealy Boyd, the Program Director with Protect for Good, said that their organization has been doing things like this with the help of various Greenville restaurants since the beginning of the pandemic in March
“In general, since March, we have had about thirty restaurants involved. Today, for these 10,000, there’s about eighteen,” Boyd said. “We feel really fortunate that so many people have wanted to be involved and get connected, and that we’re able to spread smiles on peoples’ faces along with helping the restaurant industry and provide jobs.”
She continued that, while CARES Act funding will end at the end of the year, she hopes they will be able to continue to help those affected by the pandemic going forward.
