Greenville City Manager Shannon Lavrin Delivers 2026 State of the City Address

"Growth is not just expected—it's being intentionally shaped." That's the message from Greenville City Manager Shannon Lavrin during City Council's 2026 State of the City address.

Over the past five years, Greenville has grown by 10 percent while continuing to strengthen its neighborhoods, business districts, and public spaces.

Elected in 2023, Lavrin says the one word that best describes the city is "growth." Lavrin credited City Council, city staff, and the broader community for that progress.

She also highlighted several highly anticipated projects set to launch this year, including a Real-Time Crime Center that will serve as mission control for public safety, a Wheelsports Park, and improvements along Court Street designed to create a more vibrant pedestrian experience.
