After pushing current-standing Governor Henry McMaster into GOP runoff voting in his 2018 campaign against the aforementioned, Greenville's John Warren has announced he will not rechallenge McMaster in 2022.

Warren announced in early December his investment into GEM Mining, which along with four other founding partners, will become the largest Bitcoin mining company of its kind in South Carolina.

Warren announced via Twitter on January 6th that he would not be running for Governor but would focus on his business ventures and his role on the committee for South Carolina's Conservative Future.

Now losing one of his biggest competitors, McMaster's road to reelection just got easier as the current Governor continues to make goals and plans for the rest of his current term.
