North Carolina authorities are investigating a law enforcement shooting and a triple-homicide at a home, in the Mount Mitchell area North of Asheville. Yancey County Deputies say, they were fired at Monday afternoon as they arrived at house outside Burnsville, where a 9-1-1 call reported someone had been shot.

They returned fire, killing the gunman, then found three more people dead of gunshot wounds when they were able to get inside. The North Carolina Bureau of Investigation says more information will be released Tuesday afternoon.
