
A helicopter pilot and former deputy from South Carolina says his rescue mission in Western North Carolina was shut down by an official there.
WJZY TV in Charlotte says that Jordan Seidhom a former Narcotics Unit leader in the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office and a trained helicopter pilot was threatened with arrest over the weekend in Lake Lure.
Seidhom and his son flew their helicopter to the mountains to help with rescue effort. After making multiple successful rescue Seidhom told WJZY a fire official from Lake Lure shut down his operation and threatened to have him arrested if he did not cease his efforts.
Seidhom says he feels like the decision from the fire official definitely put lives at risk. WJZY says officials from the town of Lake Lure have not responded to request for comments on this story.
