A suspect is in custody after a long standoff with police in South Carolina's Pee Dee area. Police responded to a domestic dispute at a home in Florence around 10:20, Wednesday night.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect had threatened people inside the home. He then barricaded himself inside and threatened to shoot officers if they did not leave. Deputies from the Florence County Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter and evacuated nearby buildings.
The suspect who has not yet been identified, came out of the house after a standoff that lasted more than five hours. He peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
