An icon in Upstate high school coaching has passed away. Louie Golden died Saturday night, his family says he battled dementia for the last few years. Coach Golden led Riverside Basketball to incredible accomplishments.

Golden won three State Titles and nearly 700 games over the course of his career. He sits 5th on the all time wins list in South Carolina High School Basketball. He was inducted into the South Carolina High School League Hall Of Fame in 2013. The gym at Riverside is named after Golden, who in addition to coaching at Riverside also served as Athletic Director there.
