One of the United States' most promising athletes will likely have to skip the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. 21 year-old Sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson has tested positive for a "prohibited substance," which disqualifies her performance at the U.S. Olympic Trials. If the story is true, the disqualification would make her ineligible to participate in the Olympic Games. Richardson has reportedly been suspended for 30 days due to a marijuana violation -- which would make her miss the 100-meter event, but not the 4x100 meter relay. Last week, the sprinter tweeted just three words: "I am human."
So we want to hear from you: Is it fair to disqualify an athlete from Olympic competition for smoking marijuana?
