One of the state's most infamous crime figures is being held an Upstate prison. Alex Murdaugh is being held at the Maximum Security facility in McCormick.
The Department of Corrections had previously announced that Murdaugh is in protective custody due to the high profile nature of his case. All throughout ,we reported on Murdaugh's grueling trial that resulted in him being convicted of the murders of his wife Maggie and son Paul.
Murdaugh is reportedly being housed in a single cell on a protected unit at the McCormick Correctional Institution.
