An inmate has died at an Upstate jail. Officials say, a North Carolina man was pronounced dead at The Spartanburg County Detention Center around 2:30 Tuesday morning.
The Coroner's Office identified the man as 54 year old Ronald Edward Watkins of Mill Spring. There's been no word yet how he died, but the coroner's office says, there were no apparent signs of foul play.
Watkins was being held in connection to charges in a fatal DUI crash on October 25th that killed 29 year old, Jamie Belue of Inman. SLED is investigating the death of the inmate and autopsy results on Watkins are pending.
