An investigation is ongoing after a body was found at a home on Holly Ridge Road in Blacksburg, around noon Tuesday. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says the homeowner reported seeing what looked like human remains on the property.
Fowler says the badly decomposed body appears to be that of a male and had likely been there for over a month.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. An autopsy is scheduled to help determine the cause and manner of death.
