
An investigation is ongoing after human skeletal remains were discovered in the Upstate, over the weekend. The Anderson Police Department says someone brought human bones into the Goodwill store, Saturday.
The Coroners Office was notified and confirmed that the bones were in fact human. The bones had been discovered in the woods near Belvedere Plaza and Graylyn Drive.
Investigators searched the area and uncovered more skeletal remains. Coroner Greg Shore says they located about 2 dozen bones and will be sending the remains to the SLED or FBI crime lab for analysis and an in effort to identify the victim.
The search was then continued in an expanded area and cadaver dogs were brought into assist. There's been no further details released on the incident.
