A K-9 unit played a major role in the arrest of a suspect who led deputies on a chase in the Upstate, Tuesday morning. The Greenwood County Sheriff's Office tried to stop a reckless driver around 1:30 AM, but the suspect refused to stop.
The driver then led deputies on a chase and crashed through barricades on Airport Road. The Greenwood Police Department then joined in the chase. The suspect eluded law enforcement but the damaged vehicle was later tracked and located at an apartment complex, nearby.
A k-9 unit was able to track the suspect to a specific apartment. The driver was then taken into custody without incident. The identity of the suspect has not been released, as of the time of this report.
