It was mayhem in the Mountains, as an armed suspect was shot by police in Western North Carolina over the weekend. The Hendersonville Police Department responded to a call of a man with a knife at Harbor Terrace Apartments, around 3PM Sunday.
Officers arrived and encountered the suspect who was armed with a knife. Police say that the suspect came towards the officers and an officer opened fire.
The suspect whose identity has not been released at this time was injured in the shooting and was taken to Mission Hospital. There's been no update on the suspect's condition.
The NCSBI is investigating, which is standard protocol for officer involved shootings.
