
An investigation is ongoing after a three alarm fire decimated an apartment building in Oconee County, Tuesday. Crews from the Seneca and Friendship Fire Departments responded just before 12 PM Tuesday to a fire at Clemson Ridge Apartments, formerly known as Northwoods Apartments in Seneca.
A large amount of smoke was visible from the roadway nearby. Crews were able to get inside the building and evacuate residents. Two additional alarms were sounded due to the size of the fire and crews from around the area then responded to the scene.
Firefighters worked for four hours to get the blaze under control. One firefighter suffered minor injuries he was treated and released from a local hospital. No other injuries were reported, multiple pets were rescued from inside the building.
There's been no word on the cause of the fire, as of the time of this report. SLED and the ATF have been called into assist in the investigation given the size of the fire and the damage caused.
