The owner of a long standing popular restaurant in the Upstate has died. Barbara Mathison, owner of Peddler Steak House in Spartanburg passed away this past Saturday at the age of 82.
The Mathison's have operated the steak house since Barbara's now late husband Henry became the owner of the Peddler in 1993. The couple's two daughter grew up working in the restaurant as well.
Peddler Steak House is closed Thursday and Friday in observance of Mathison's services which are being held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Spartanburg.
