A Low Country woman is facing charges after a girl was found severely malnourished there. The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office says 43 year old, Chiquitta Dawkins has been charged with unlawful conduct towards a child.
The charge came after a 12 year old girl, was found weighing less than 50 pounds during an investigation at a home in the small town of Bowman.
Officials describe the girl's condition as "severely malnourished" and was frail due to the conditions she was kept in.
