Greenville Jury convicts 50 year old of murder and kidnapping.
On Friday September 20, 2024, Jeffrey Michael George was sentenced to 48 years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections for the 2019 murder of Ivan Gula.
The 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office said, evidence presented at the trial showed Gula was lured to a Greer, SC home on C and S Drive in December 2019. Once there, George and another co-defendant, David Stokes, held the victim down and struck him with a machete. Gula's body was later transported to a burial spot a short distance from the scene of the crime.
According to the Solicitor's Office, Stokes has pleaded guilty to murder and kidnapping and is awaiting sentence.
Trials for others involved in the crime are anticipated to be scheduled in the coming months.
