A one year old baby was injured in Charlotte over the weekend, after police say a man punched the child in the face. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says, the incident happened around 11:45 Sunday morning on the city's South End.
Officers were able to identify the suspect, 26 year old Rico Limon Williams with the help of witnesses and took him into custody. Williams is charged with assaulting a child under 12.
The baby was taken to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte to be treated and has since been released.
