A man is in custody following an incident Thursday, in which he allegedly started a fire in a home. Deputies from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported structure fire.
Upon arrival, they observed mattresses on fire and smoke coming from the window of a home in Walhalla. 56 year old , Mark Allen Cox was taken into custody after a brief struggle with deputies inside the home. Cox faces charges of 1st degree burglary, 2nd degree larceny, and violating his probation
