Man convicted in crash that killed a 3 year old...
The trial of Gabriel Arteaga began Tuesday. Despite entering a not-guilty plea Monday, Arteaga was found guilty of reckless homicide according to the 8th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
The crash happened in October of 2023 on Chestnut Ridge Road in Laurens County. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said Arteaga was driving a pickup truck when he ran a stop sign and crashed into an SUV, which resulted in the death of 3 year old Madison Hines of Gray Court. He was charged with reckless homicide.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Arteaga was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
