Emergency repairs have shut down a bridge in Spartanburg County.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation has closed the Mayo Road Bridge over Island Creek for repairs, although no information has been given as to why the bridge needed repair.
The closure will last about a month. Detours will take drivers down Old School Road, Hwy 221, 85 and Battleground Road.
Mayo Road will remain open, to local traffic only, while the bridge is being repaired. A news release from SCDOT shared below.
