Two of South Carolina's elected leaders are speaking out against newly proposed inflation legislation. Democrats are looking pass their new Inflation Reduction Act. On Tuesday, U.S. Senator from the Upstate Lindsey Graham held a joint press conference with Governor McMaster voicing their issues with the bill.
Graham voted against the bill in the Senate, citing major issues with proposed gas tax hikes associated with it. Governor McMaster echoed Graham's sentiments, as he spoke on feeling like the legislation would do the opposite of what it is intended for. Many are skeptical of the bill and some economists say, that if enacted the bill would actually create inflation increases.
