Military veteran receives new home in the Upstate

Christmas has come early for an Upstate military veteran and his family. Army Staff Sergeant Brian Cassidy and his family received keys , Thursday to their new home in Inman. The home comes mortgage free through Operation Finally home and Lennar.

Sergeant Cassidy served in the Infantry for over 18 years, during that time he did combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. While deployed in Iraq, Cassidy suffered a severe brain injury among other ailments after his unit was hit by an IED. He has been awarded the Purple Heart for his service in combat.

The Cassidy's new place marks the 14th home the two groups have built together for veterans.
