The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports one person has died in Anderson County after crashing a moped in the roadway and then being struck by another vehicle around 11PM Thursday night.
Corporal Joe Hovis reports a man riding on a 2012 Gato moped crashed in the roadway on SC 187 about 5 miles north of Anderson near LaFrance Road.
The man and the moped were both struck by the driver of a 2010 GMC utility vehicle. The driver of the GMC was seat belted and not injured. The moped driver died at the scene.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
