A Chester County woman is set to spend more than three decades behind bars after the death of her child, nearly two years ago. Last week, 34 year old Joyce Renee Stover was sentenced to 35 years in prison after a jury convicted her of homicide by child abuse.
The charges came after an 11 month old child died of a fentanyl overdose in November of 2021. Stover's mother was also charged for unlawful neglect in the incident.
Judge Brian Gibbons told Stover following the conviction " I have a duty to protect the community from people like you. Look at the damage you left, you killed your own baby. No more excuses".
