The Highway Patrol and Coroner's Offices are investigating fatal motorcycle accidents in Greenville and Anderson Counties. The driver of an SUV that turned left in front of a motorcycle on Little Texas Road east of Travelers Rest Wednesday afternoon is charged with failure-to-yield-right-of-way. The motorcycle rider died at the scene of the collision at the intersection with Clearview Road just before 5:00 o'clock.
In Anderson County, troopers say a rider lost control of his motorcycle on Highway 88, the Old Greenville Highway, about 10 PM Wednesday night. The motorbike hit two utlity poles on a section of the highway being repaved between Arizona and Three-and-Twenty Roads near Liberty. A passenger was treated for minor injuries, but the rider died at the scene of accident.
The fataities bring the toll of motorcycle fatalities in to 55 in South Carolina so far this year.
