It was mayhem in the mountains, as a suspect jumped into a Western North Carolina river during a chase to try and evade arrest. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office says, the suspect Travelle Shade was spotted riding a bicycle on Deaverview Road in Asheville, Tuesday afternoon.
Shade fled from deputies, he was taken into custody about 90 minutes later after he jumped into the French Broad River near Carrier Park. A boat was brought into reach Shade, who was then taken into custody.
He was then transported to Mission Hospital to be evaluated.
