Multiple Upstate fire departments responded to a building fire Monday night. The Cateeche Mill in Pickens County caught fire and firefighters arrived on scene around 7:30 PM. Officials with the Central Fire Department say that nearly 3 quarters of the building was on fire when they arrived.

Fire crews from Central, Liberty, Clemson and Easley worked together to get the blaze under control. That task took hours due to the tumultuous terrain and weather conditions. The mill has not been in operation for years, Monday night marked the second fire at the mill since last year. Officials have not said what caused the fire.
