Murdaugh sentenced to life in prison without parole

(Associated Press) - Judge Clifton Newman has sentenced Alex Murdaugh to life without parole. The decision came Friday morning, after he was convicted of murder in the shooting deaths of his wife and son, Thursday night.

The Colleton County jury deliberated for less than three hours, before finding Murdaugh guilty of killing his 22-year-old son, Paul, with a and his 52-year-old wife, Maggie, on June 7th of 2021.

Murdaugh will be transported to a state prison where he will be held in maximum security.
