A now former high school soccer coach in North Carolina is in custody here in the Palmetto State on child sex crime charges.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says the suspect 30 year old, Maxwell Sidney Fletcher was arrested in Gaffney, this past Friday. Investigators from Lincoln County responded last Wednesday to a reported sexual assault against a minor.
Fletcher served as Assistant Boys Soccer Coach at East Lincoln High in Denver, NC this past fall. The Lincoln County School District says he is no longer associated with the school.
Investigators Say Fletcher has pending felony warrants from Lincoln and Catawba Counties. The investigation is ongoing and is said to include multiple jurisdictions across the Carolinas. Fletcher is being held in Gaffney and is expected to be extradited back to North Carolina this week.
