A Drug trafficking ring in North Georgia has been dismantled after nearly two dozen suspects were arrested, earlier this week.
After months of investigation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation or GBI, along with federal and local partners, has arrested and charged multiple people in a major drug trafficking operation.
Authorities say “Operation Silent Hand” uncovered a substantial amount of drugs and weapons across six North Georgia counties. On Wednesday, investigators executed nine search warrants and 16 arrest warrants. They Seized 32 kilos of meth, 4 pounds of fentanyl, opioids and guns.
Twenty people have been taken into custody in connection with the network. Sixteen suspects are charged with violating Georgia’s RICO Act.
All of those arrested have been booked into the Hall or Habersham County jails. Officials say the investigation remains active, and additional charges and arrests are possible.
