A new charter school in the Upstate has filed a lawsuit against multiple public school districts.
Mountain View Prep claims in the suit that multiple Spartanburg County School Districts unjustly blocked its middle school athletic programs from competing in the local middle school athletic conference.
The school claims that blocking them from the conference has led to a dozen students leaving the school and thus the school will lose over a half a million dollars in state funding over the next six years.
The districts named in the suit and the Foothills Athletic Conference have not issued a statement in response to the suit. Mountain View Prep will open its doors In August for its 1st academic year.
