A new Police Chief has been named for the Asheville Police Department, and it may be a name you already know.
Announced Tuesday, Mike Lamb has accepted the permanent position of CHIEF. According to City Manager Debra Campbell, Lamb has been serving as Interim Chief since December of last year.
Chief Lamb has been working for the Asheville community for over 26 years. He began as a Patrol Officer and this past June was promoted to Deputy Chief.
Lamb said in a statement he's cherished the opportunity to cultivate strong bonds within the community throughout his career.
