One of Oconee County's most notorious crime figures is once again behind bars. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office says Kevin "Boston" Maler was arrested last week after a search warrant was executed on a home in Westminster.

Maler was found in possession of a substance believed to be fentanyl. During the search a bottle of the opioid Tramadol was found along with two guns. Maler is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to his multiple prior felony convictions.

Maler was the subject of a nationally distributed true crime podcast centering around his alleged involvement in the disappearances of Faith Roach in 2019 from Oconee County and Jennifer Fay who went missing in the Boston area in the late 80's.

Both women are still missing to this day. Maler was also charged with murder in connection to the 2019 death of Kevin Craig in Oconee County. Those charges were dropped due to what prosecutors said was insufficient evidence.

Maler was released early from prison after being sentenced to 5 years after convictions for distributing meth in 2019 and trafficking meth in 2021.
