An Upstate University is reporting findings of the newest covid strain. On Monday, Clemson University announced its first wave of cases of the Omicron variant. Clemson’s press release says they detected the variant in samples collected at a lab on campus. 10 samples of the variant were found through testing in the community and at the University. The school says the infection rate numbers were low for the fall semester. They also said they will be monitoring public health trends to determine whether they need to make adjustments to their plans for the spring semester.
