One dead and another hospitalized after Upstate crash

One person is dead and another is injured after a crash and vehicle fire on a busy Upstate highway, Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened on I-26 westbound near mile marker 55 in Laurens County.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a tractor trailer ran off the road, hit a pedestrian and a Ford pick up truck before hitting a guard rail and going down an embankment. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.

The driver of the tractor trailer died in the crash. The Laurens County Coroner's Office has identified the deceased as 64 year old Mark Anthony Bigby of Anderson.
