One dead and three others injured following Upstate crash

One person is dead and three others are injured after a three vehicle collision in the Upstate, early this morning. The crash happened around 4:40 AM on I-26 eastbound near mile marker 18 in Spartanburg County.

The South Carolina Highway patrol says a Honda sedan was disabled on I-26 and was rear-ended by a Dodge pick up, a 3rd vehicle, a Ford sedan then crashed into the back of the Dodge truck.

All three drivers were injured and were transported to the hospital. A passenger in the Ford sedan was also transported to the hospital, where they died from injuries suffered in the wreck.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
