One person is dead following a shooting in Cherokee County. Deputies responded to a reported shooting just after 2 AM Wednesday. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says, 29 year old, Roger Clayton Robertson was shot and died from his injuries at Cherokee Medical Center in Gaffney around 3:30 AM.
Fowler's report says Robertson went to the home of another man on Deana Lane in Blacksburg. The two men reportedly got into a fight prior to Robertson being shot in the chest.
The homeowner says Robertson broke into his house and assaulted him, he then fired in self defense. Authorities say the incident was not a random act as the two men knew each other. There's been no charges announced stemming from the incident.
