One dead, four more injured after Upstate weekend crash

One person is dead and four others are injured after a weekend crash in the Upstate. The single vehicle wreck happened at the intersection of Sandy Ford and Fosters Grove Roads in Spartanburg County, just before 10PM, Saturday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver of a Mazda sedan went off the road, the vehicle then hit a group of trees and an embankment. There were five people in the car during the crash.

One of them was pronounced dead at the scene and four others were hospitalized. The identity of the deceased has not been released, as of this time. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
