One person was hospitalized after being shot Wednesday evening on an Upstate highway. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office responded just after 630 PM to a reported shooting on Highway 8 in Easley.
During the investigation, deputies learned that a victim had been dropped off at Baptist Easley Hospital. The driver who took the man to the hospital fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. He was later located and questioned.
Investigators discovered that two vehicles were traveling along Highway 8 when someone in one of the vehicles opened fire. The Sheriff's Office says, the incident stemmed from a previous fight between people in the two vehicles.
The victim has since been transported to Greenville Memorial and is said to be in stable condition. No arrests have been announced, as of the time of this report.
