The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred along I-85 in the southern part of the county. Around 5:30pm Sunday afternoon, 911 Dispatchers received a call in reference to
gunshots that were fired from a vehicle into another vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by two adults and two children.
The shooting occurred on southbound lanes of I-85 between mile markers 1 and 2, which is between Highway 11 and Highway 59.
A woman inside of the vehicle sustained injuries.
According to early reports, the incident is being investigated as a possible road rage incident. The victim was airlifted and taken to an area hospital.
