One teenager is dead and two more were hospitalized after an early morning crash on Labor Day. The crash happened on Highway 81 near Country Lane, around 1AM Monday.
Anderson County Coroner Grego Shore has identified the deceased as 17 year old Aidan David Schultz of Piedmont. Shore says that Schultz was a student at Wren High School and that three other Wren students were in the vehicle when the crash happened. The group had left a party drove to a gas station and were on the way back to the party, when they crashed.
The impact from the crash caused damage to a house nearby. Anderson School District One has released a statement saying "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. We ask our community to keep Aidan’s family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
The District says additional counselors will be on hand at Wren this week to support faculty and staff during the grieving process. The crash remains under investigation and no further details have been released, at this time.
