An out of state woman has been found dead in the Upstate. Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler says, the body of 20 year old, Emily Lauren King, of Canton, Georgia was found on the shoulder of the road. A passer by reported seeing a woman lying face down on the side of Cannons Campground Road, just before noon on Friday.
King was pronounced dead at the scene, Fowler reports that she had no identification on her, but her tattoos and an object she was carrying helped them reach her next of kin and make a positive ID.
King had reportedly been staying with a friend in Gaffney up until her death. Fowler has ordered an autopsy and an investigation into her death.
