One person is dead after being hit by a train in the Upstate Thursday. The Greer Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a train around 2:40 PM Thursday at the intersection of Moore and Able Streets.
When officers arrived, they found the pedestrian dead on the scene. Greer Police Lieutenant Patrick Fortenberry says, detectives are working with the Greenville County Coroner's Office to determine how the crash happened.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, as of the time of this report. The Greer PD says it plans to release more information at the appropriate time.
