A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in the Upstate. The Anderson County Coroner's Office says the crash happened around 11:30 Friday night on Highway 81 near Iva.
A jeep was driving south on 81, when it hit a pedestrian who was in the roadway. The man was transported to Anmed Hospital, where he later died.
The pedestrian has been identified as 42 year old, Benjamin Earl Holbrooks. The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Coroner's Office.
