Body camera footage from a Deputy involved shooting in December last year has been released by the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting happened December 27, 2023 at a home on Pequot Drive in Greenville. Around 5:15 that evening, Dispatch received a call about a disturbance between a man and a woman.
According to Lt. Ryan Flood, arriving Deputies found Walter McDonald armed with a gun. McDonald refused repeated requests to put the gun down. Lt. Flood said while outside, McDonald pointed his gun at deputies, who shot due to the immediate threat to their lives.

McDonald died at the scene. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) continues to investigate, and is working to determine who fired the first shot.
